Roles and responsibilities
Lead and Ensure Delivery of Career Management Mission
- Oversee Career Manager/team to execute recruitment directives, talent inventory, training ID, succession planning, and promotions.
- Set/enforce KPIs for critical role coverage, skill assessments, and internal mobility.
- Monitor outputs (e.g., updated records, talent pipelines) and escalate gaps to MD.
Lead and Ensure Delivery of Payroll & Cost Control Mission
- Oversee Payroll Manager/team for end-to-end payroll, invoicing, statutory compliance, and cost monitoring.
- Enforce 100% accuracy/timeliness in data mgmt..
- Drive cost optimization dashboards/reports for MD benchmarks.
Integrate Operations and Align with Head of International Manning’s Strategy
- Harmonize Career/Payroll outputs for seamless seafarer lifecycle (onboarding to retention).
- Ensure alignment with Group standards (MLC/ILO, ethics/DE&I/wellbeing) via audits/team controls.
- Sponsor automation, process improvements, and cost-saving initiatives through teams.
Team Leadership and Development
- Build high-performance culture: conduct performance reviews/coaching.
- Delegate missions while holding managers accountable via weekly dashboards/escalations.
- Foster client/seafarer satisfaction (e.g., prompt wage responses, zero pending complaints).
Reporting and Stakeholder Management
- Provide Head of International Manning’s with analytics (costs, productivity, risks, talent readiness).
- Liaise with Shipman, treasury/accounting, insurers for issue resolution.
- Contribute to Head of International Manning’s strategy.
Qualifications, Skills and Experiences
- Minimum degree with Honours in HR or related qualification
- Manning & seafarer operations: Solid exposure to internal manning agency operations including recruitment, salary benchmarking, and coordination with global manning partners.
- Regulatory & compliance expertise: Deep practical knowledge of MLC 2006 and ILO standards, plus experience as an MLC 2006 Lead Auditor, ensuring the candidate understands seafarer rights, contracts, and audit requirements.
- Leadership and HR‑oriented mindset: Demonstrated ability to work in HR‑adjacent, people‑centric roles, with skills in management, leadership, and development, plus exposure to talent and employee‑experience initiatives.
- Cross‑functional skills: Comfortable working at the intersection of HR, finance, operations, and compliance, with experience supporting strategic and operational management in a multinational, offshore environment.
- Industry experience: Minimum 7 years in the maritime/oil & gas sector, with a strong base in global employment and crewing.
