Roles and responsibilities

  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of the fleet in accordance with Bourbon standards by supervising the maintenance processes.
  • Support and improve fleet HSE Culture through preventive actions deployment and incidents investigation.
  • Participate in the definition of the maintenance budget defined on an annual basis and carry out a monthly control of maintenance costs with the help of the Cost Controller and the Vessel Manager.
  • Carry out annual allocated vessel’s technical inspections.
  • Ensure technical failures are systematically reported and keeping technical and vessel managers updated.
  • Participate in incident investigation and deal with emergency issues.
  • Ensure hierarchical management of Chief Engineers on his fleet.

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as Chief Engineer or 2nd Engineer onboard or within a shipping company.
  • Certificate in Chief engineering or maritime or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of ISM, ISPS, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC and STCW standards.
  • Proficiency in CMMS tools and Bourbon maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to analyse, investigate and lead technical projects investigations.
  • Excellent Project Management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills to meet deadlines.
  •  Proficient in MS Office tools and ability to operate specific software programmes related to the department.
  •  Ability to work and adapt in a complex and challenging environment.
