Roles and responsibilities

As part of a maternity leave replacement, we are currently looking for a Logistics Officer (Procurement).

In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing activities on behalf of Bourbon GUYANA and Bourbon Ship Managers, as well as supporting and following up on Supply Chain Management activities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and developing the supplier database;
  • Identifying the best available solutions to meet the operational requirements of vessels, Ship Managers and Bourbon GUYANA;
  • Sourcing and comparing quotations to ensure the best balance between quality, price and delivery requirements, in accordance with Bourbon’s Key Internal Controls;
  • Negotiating prices, commercial terms and product specifications with suppliers;
  • Creating Purchase Orders and following up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery;
  • Ensuring regular placement and follow-up of Purchase Orders and maintaining up-to-date information on vessels’ LPRs;
  • Providing the Cost Controller and Accounts Payable teams with copies of all Purchase Orders issued to vendors;
  • Forwarding and communicating any vendor invoices received to Accounts Payable and/or the Cost Controller;
  • Managing the administrative activities related to the role and effectively using the relevant business tools and software;
  • Developing a good understanding of the Company’s organisation and internal processes;
  • Ensuring full compliance with Bourbon Compliance Directives, internal procedures and the Code of Conduct.

Qualifications, Skills and Experiences

  • Secondary education diploma required; additional training in logistics, procurement or supply chain would be an advantage;
  • Good command of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Good organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage several priorities at the same time;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders;
  • Good negotiation skills and a practical, solution-oriented mindset;
  • Ability to work autonomously, follow procedures and internal controls, and operate effectively in an international environment;
  • Previous experience in procurement, logistics or supply chain activities would be an advantage.
