Content Strategist (Cape Town)

The role:

Are you a master storyteller who loves sharp angles, strategic narrative-building, and high-tech topics? We’re looking for a Content Strategist to take the reins on our clients’ content engines. You’ll be the strategic thread behind our editorial calendars - managing a steady pipeline of 30+ pieces a month (op-eds, press releases, features, rapid response, and LinkedIn posts).

What you’ll be doing:

• Define distinct content lanes for ~12 clients so no two brands compete for the same headlines.
• Map out quarterly content calendars, ensuring topics stay fresh, non-repetitive, and aligned with news hooks and key awareness days.
• Draft copywriter briefs, manage our external roster of freelance tech writers, and keep client content moving like clockwork.
• Edit content against writing style, ensure strict fact-checking/source tracing, and shape hooks for our account managers to pitch.
• Turn approved thought leadership into other types of content (LinkedIn posts, blogs, newsletters, and sponsored versions).

What you bring:

• Proven experience shaping complex tech themes into compelling, journalist-ready stories.
• An eagle eye for detail, style, and fact-checking.
• Skill in briefing, onboarding, and managing freelance copywriters so drafts land close to perfection.
• Comfort using Google Workspace and editorial schedules to keep assets organised.
• Self-motivated, highly collaborative, ready to bring good vibes to our virtual watercooler, and great at working alongside Senior Account Managers.
