A well-established distribution company is seeking to appoint an experienced and hardworking Credit Facilitator to manage the full credit control function across assigned portfolios. The role focuses on field-level debt management involving Consultants, Managers, and Prospective Distributors, requiring a proactive and hands-on approach to collections, account monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities 

  • Full Credit Control Function

    • Manage the full credit lifecycle, including invoicing, follow-ups, reconciliations, and collections

    • Monitor accounts, resolve disputes, and maintain accurate audit trails

    • Identify high-risk accounts early and implement recovery plans in line with credit policy

    Consultant & Manager Collections

    • Lead proactive recovery of debt from Consultants and Managers

    • Implement structured calling, messaging, and follow-up procedures

    • Coordinate with Distributors and Area Managers to align recovery actions

    Acknowledgement of Debt (AOD) Management

    • Prepare, track, and monitor AODs to ensure compliance with agreed terms

    • Follow up consistently on defaulting accounts

    • Liaise with legal teams and credit bureaus where escalation is required

    Training & Support

    • Provide money management and credit discipline training to Consultants and Managers as needed

    • Support Prospective Distributors during the mentorship phase to promote sound credit practices

    • Assist the CCS team in delivering training initiatives and awareness campaigns

    Reporting & System Updates

    • Maintain accurate account histories, notes, and comment logs on the system

    • Prepare weekly and monthly credit control reports for management review

    Team Collaboration & Leadership Support

    • Assist with training and mentoring of junior team members

    • Support departmental planning, escalation management, and coordination

    • Gradually assume team oversight and leadership responsibilities as capability is demonstrated

Requirements 

  • Diploma in Credit Management, Accounting, or a related financial field

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in credit control, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory role

  • Proven experience in field collections, AOD management, and system-based account tracking

  • Fluent in English, with the ability to communicate in multiple African languages
