Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, or related field
7+ years’ experience in data governance, data management, or compliance leadership
years plus in a leadership role
Knowledge of data governance tools (AWS Glue Data Catalog, Collibra, Alation, etc.)
Deep understanding of POPIA, GDPR, and data privacy regulations
Familiarity with AI governance and ethical AI practices
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Responsibilities:

Develop and implement enterprise Data and AI Governance frameworks
Define data ownership, stewardship, and classification policies
Ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards
Oversee data quality, lineage, and metadata management
Collaborate with engineering and AI teams to embed governance controls
Promote data literacy and accountability across the organisation
