ABOUT THE ROLE

SNG Grant Thornton is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Director: Forensics to provide strategic and commercial leadership within our Forensics service line.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving profitable growth, delivering exceptional client service and strengthening our position as a leading player in the Forensics market. This role combines strategic leadership, business development, client relationship management, engagement profitability, people leadership and innovation, with a strong focus on technology-enabled forensic solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Drive the profitable growth of the Forensics service line, maximising revenue and engagement profitability.
Contribute to the development and execution of the Forensics strategy, aligned to SNG Grant Thornton’s broader strategic objectives and Vision 2030.
Lead and oversee the delivery of high-quality, complex and high-value forensic engagements, ensuring quality, risk management and client satisfaction.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients and identify opportunities for business development and revenue growth.
Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across targeted clients, industries and markets.
Position SNG Grant Thornton as a leading provider of Forensics services, leveraging thought leadership, market insights and innovative solutions.
Identify opportunities to develop new products, services and technology-enabled solutions in response to evolving client needs.
Drive the use of emerging forensic technologies, including data analytics, eDiscovery, digital forensics and cyber forensics.
Lead, coach and develop high-performing teams while contributing to talent development, succession planning and the leadership pipeline.
Monitor financial and engagement performance against budgets, revenue targets and margins, taking corrective action where required.
Embed strong governance, quality, risk management and professional standards across the Forensics portfolio.
Engage with the Service Line Leader, Managing Director and relevant governance structures on strategic, financial, people and performance matters.
Represent SNG Grant Thornton with clients, professional bodies, industry stakeholders and relevant international forums.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

A relevant postgraduate qualification and CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) qualification.
CIA, CISA or CA(SA) will be advantageous.
A minimum of 7 years’ experience at Director, Executive or equivalent senior leadership level.
Significant senior-level experience in Forensics, Forensic Investigation, Fraud Risk, Digital Forensics or a related discipline.
Proven experience leading complex and high-value forensic engagements.
Strong commercial and business acumen, with experience managing revenue, profitability and engagement performance.
Proven business development and client relationship management experience.
Experience leading high-performing teams and managing performance.
Professional services experience is preferred.
