Electrical Construction Operator Level 1 (Tshwane (Pretoria))

Qualifications and skills:
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: 

• Grade 12.
• 2-4 years of experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Highly motivated individual with strong self-management skills.
• High level of trustworthiness and ethical conduct.
• Ability to grind, cut and chase.
• The candidate must be physically fit.
• The person will be required to travel to the site.
• The work environment characteristics are those encountered in a typical environment.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Dig holes and trenches, plant poles and lay cables in trenches.
• Chase and cut walls and concrete floors for conduit.
• Load and unload materials.
• Strip redundant installations and equipment incidental thereto from which the supply cables have been removed.
• Clean office and workshop areas.
• Install and fix flush and surface mounted wireways and ancillary equipment thereto.
• Install cables including the fitting of glands, making off and securing such cables, but excluding the connection thereof.
• Install fix of flush and surface mounted wireways and ancillary equipment thereto.
• Assist with erecting and connection luminaries.
