This programme forms part of a national public-private initiative led by the Presidency to combat youth unemployment and provide young people with meaningful first-time work experience.

About the YES Programme at Eskom

The Youth Employment Service (YES) programme is designed to help unemployed youth gain hands-on experience, improve employability, and build essential workplace skills within South Africa’s leading energy organisation.

Successful candidates will be placed within Eskom Operations – Retail Customer Services across various locations in KwaZulu-Natal.

• Business Unit: Central East Cluster
• Location: Various locations in KwaZulu-Natal

Minimum Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

• Be a South African citizen
• Be between 18 and 34 years old
• Have Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
  (Post-matric certificate, programme, or N3 Electrical Engineering will be advantageous)

Selection Criteria

Applicants must also meet the following conditions:

• Must not have been permanently employed with one employer for more than 12 consecutive months
• Must not be studying full-time during the year of employment
• Must not have previously participated in the YES initiative
• Must be willing to undergo Eskom’s recruitment and selection process
• Successful candidates will be placed in KwaZulu-Natal Eskom operations
