Role summary

We’re looking for a meticulous finance professional to take ownership of statutory reporting and compliance for a well-established retail group, ensuring they meet every regulatory and reporting obligation with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory financial statements and regulatory reports.
• Ensure compliance with tax, VAT, and other statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
• Monitor and strengthen internal financial controls.
• Keep up to date with changes in financial legislation and reporting standards.
• Prepare compliance reports for management and, where required, regulatory bodies.
• Support the Finance team with technical accounting queries.
• Identify and mitigate compliance risks.

Minimum requirements

• Relevant finance/accounting qualification (degree required; SAICA/SAIPA advantageous).
• Minimum 4-6 years’ experience in financial reporting, compliance, or audit.
• Strong working knowledge of South African tax and financial reporting requirements.
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP system experience advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
