Graphic Designer / Art Director (Cape Town)

Reach Digital, a dynamic digital marketing agency based in Cape Town, is looking for a talented and confident mid-senior graphic designer to join our creative team. We are a small agency with big clients, a diverse portfolio, and some exciting in-house products. This is a fully remote role (for now) with monthly in-person team meetups to collaborate and connect.

As a graphic designer/ art director at Reach Digital, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for a variety of clients. You will report directly to the head of accounts and the head of design. You’ll work on a range of projects, from digital campaigns to large-scale print formats, ensuring every design aligns with brand identities and exceeds client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Create visually compelling designs for digital and print media, including social media graphics, websites, banners, brochures, and large-scale print formats.
• Collaborate with the marketing and content teams to develop creative concepts that align with client goals.
• Ensure all designs are consistent with brand guidelines and industry standards.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality output.
• Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and technologies to bring fresh ideas to the table.

Requirements

• Tertiary design qualification.
• Proven experience as a graphic designer with a strong portfolio showcasing your work across digital and print media.
• Full proficiency in design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
• Expertise in designing for large-scale print formats, setting up for print, and standard digital formats.
• Experience in animation.
• Experience in motion graphics or video editing – This would be hugely beneficial as a few of our clients require social format video edits.
• Strong understanding of typography, colour theory, and layout design.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present and justify design decisions.
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently in a remote environment.

Bonus points

• Proficiency in After Effects.
• Experience with WordPress, Webflow, or any knowledge of code.
• Knowledge of UI/UX design principles.
• Familiarity with digital marketing and how design impacts campaign performance.
