Industrial Designer (Cape Town)

We are a growing product development company specializing in high-quality, artisanal children’s goods, educational items, and unique gifts. We are seeking a versatile, highly skilled Product Designer to join our team.

This is a dynamic, end-to-end role where you won't just sit behind a screen—you will take concepts from initial sketches all the way to physical production, packaging, and digital storefronts. If you are a maker at heart with a sharp eye for detail, a passion for tactile products and the desire to explore and learn, we want to hear from you.

Key responsibilities

• Concept and product development: Translate ideas into beautiful, functional product designs (including wooden toys, educational kits, and artisanal gifts).
• Prototyping and production design: Build physical prototypes and optimize 2D vector layouts for manufacturing, ensuring seamless execution on production machinery.
• Hands-on manufacturing: Operate and manage workshop machinery, including CNC routers, laser cutters, UV printers, vinyl cutters, and Cricut machines.
• Packaging design: Create structural and graphic packaging designs that elevate the unboxing experience and protect the product.
• Photography and marketing assets: Handle in-house product photography, expert image editing, and the creation of digital/print marketing materials.
• E-Commerce and platform management: Manage the digital rollout of new products by uploading listings, creating optimized product descriptions, and managing imagery across the company website and external sales platforms (e.g., Takealot).
