Industrial Engineer Intern (Cape Town)

We are looking for a motivated and detail orientated Industrial Engineer Intern to join our team, based in Elsies River Cape Town. This an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands on experience. The successful candidate will support continuous improvement initiatives, process optimisation, data analysis, and productivity enhancement projects within a manufacturing environment.

Main responsibilities:

• Assist with monitoring and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Support in identifying and resolving production and equipment-related issues.
• Collect, analyse, and report on production and process performance data.
• Participate in continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Assist with equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, reports, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Support quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Assist with Adhoc projects, including planning, tracking, and implementation as and when required
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to achieve operational goals.
• Perform administrative and technical duties as assigned by the Manager.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in:
• Industrial engineering
• Or a related engineering qualification.

Knowledge and skills:

• Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
