Inkjet Operator (Cape Town)

A leading digital printing company in Cape Town is looking for an experienced Inkjet Operator to join its production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on print professional who understands the demands of high-volume digital production, takes pride in print quality and can keep production running efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor high-speed inkjet/digital printing equipment to meet daily production requirements.
• Set up and prepare jobs according to production specifications and job requirements.
• Monitor print quality throughout production and ensure output meets required standards.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor ink levels, paper/stock and other production consumables.
• Identify and resolve basic machine and print-quality issues to minimise downtime.
• Complete production documentation, records and reports accurately.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure deadlines and quality targets are achieved.
• Adhere to all company safety, quality and operational procedures.

Requirements:

• Matric / grade 12.
• Minimum 3 years' experience operating inkjet or production digital printing equipment.
• Solid understanding of commercial/digital print production processes.
• Good understanding of colour management in a digital print environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong quality focus.
• Able to work under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
• Reliable, responsible and able to work effectively as part of a production team.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.

Advanteous:

• Experience operating Ricoh, Canon, Xerox or similar high-production digital print equipment.
• Knowledge of print finishing processes.
• Previous experience within a commercial print production environment.

The ideal candidate:
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, technically minded and production-focused, with a genuine understanding of digital print. You should be comfortable working with production equipment, spotting quality issues quickly and taking ownership of your output.
