Job Description

TWK Agri has the following vacancy available: IT Technician within the IT division at Piet Retief, Mpumalanga.

Job Summary

This role involves providing first- and second-line technical support to end users, maintaining IT infrastructure and equipment, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of IT services across the business. The IT Technician will troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues, support users both on-site and remotely, and assist with installations, upgrades, and maintenance while delivering a high standard of customer service.

Responsibilities and Duties

Provide technical support to end users remotely and on-site
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues
Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs of IT equipment
Configure and troubleshoot wired and wireless network connections
Log, track, and update support tickets in line with company procedures
Assist with IT asset deployment and inventory management
Support branch and site visits as required
Maintain accurate technical documentation and records
Set up equipment and user accounts for new employees (onboarding support)
Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and security requirements
Provide basic user training and guidance on systems and applications

Qualifications and Skills

Matric / Grade 12
CompTIA A+ Certification
CompTIA Network+ Certification
CompTIA Security+ Certification (advantageous)
Ubiquiti certification (UBWS or equivalent) (advantageous)
1–3 years’ experience in an IT support environment
Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows OS, Microsoft 365, networking (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi), and end-user hardware
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
Customer-focused approach to service delivery
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good organisational and time management skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Willingness to learn and continuously develop technical skills
