Mediumweight Graphic Designer (Kloof)

A busy, retail print store requires the skills of a Graphic designer who is able to service both walk-in customers and existing customers design for a range of print products.

The position requires a hands-on creative designer who is confident working across print and digital and is well versed in preparing final artwork for print.

• The individual needs to be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a good eye for detail. 
• Must be a good team player and prepared to get involved in hands-on work.
• Proactive, adaptable and self-motivated.
• Strong communication skills and confident client-facing skills.
• Excellent organisational skills.
• Ability to produce accurate work under pressure.

Skills required:

• Diploma or degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or a related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a design role 
• Experience designing flyers/leaflets, brochures, corporate stationery, signage
• Must be mac literate and have advanced proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong understanding of design, layout, typography, composition, branding and DTP
• Good - Excellent knowledge of pre-press, print production and preparing print-ready artwork
• Experience creating digital content for websites, social media and email marketing beneficial
• Understanding of Canva beneficial
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or PowerPoint/Keynote
• Excellent English language, grammar and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail, organisation, time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Knowledge of WordPress and/or basic HTML/CSS will be an advantage, but not essential
