As part of our Youth Development Strategy, we have adopted various initiatives to drive positive social impact and to directly impact unemployment of youth. In alignment with this there are opportunities available within Momentum Investments Group across various areas where we would like to offer unemployed youth a 12 month opportunity to gain experience, this is in alignment and in partnership with the Youth Employment Services (YES). Please be advised that successful candidates will qualify for a monthly stipend.

Requirements

Relevant Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Finance: Finance, Accounting, Investment Management or related fields.
  • Information Technology: Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science or related fields.
  • Governance: Risk Management, Compliance, Law, Governance or related fields.
  • Marketing: Marketing, Communications, Brand Management, Digital Marketing or related fields.

Knowledge: 

  • Functional ability to use MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • South African citizens aged between 18 and 25 years.
  • Unemployed at the time of application.
  • First-time participants in the Youth Employment Services (YES) Programme

Responsibilities

  • On-the job training and learning: Exposure to both on-the-job training and asynchronous learning opportunities, ultimately building a strong career foundation in financial services.
  • Skills Development: Gain hands-on experience in the workplace, developing practical skills crucial for future careers. This experience is often tailored to match the learner’s interests and career goals.
  • Employment Readiness: By engaging in real-world work scenarios, learners become more competitive in the job market. By gaining insights into professional environments, workplace etiquette, and job-specific tasks, which enhances employability.
  • Personal Growth: The programme aims to build confidence and self-efficacy in learners. Through mentorship and training, participants are encouraged to set goals, overcome challenges, and achieve personal and professional growth.
  • Networking Opportunities: Learners have the chance to connect with leaders and build a network that can be beneficial for future job searches and career advancement.
