Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Motsepe Foundation Bursary, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Be a South African citizen with a valid South African ID.

• Be currently in Grade 12 in 2025 or have recently completed Matric and are preparing to start undergraduate studies in 2026.

• Achieve a minimum 70% average in core subjects, especially those related to STEM.

• Demonstrate clear financial need—this is not a bursary for students who can afford university independently.

• Be accepted or in the process of applying to study a STEM-related undergraduate degree at a recognised South African university.

Important Note on Preference
