Public Relations Account Manager (Cape Town)

Job description

We are looking for an energetic and dynamic PR Account Manager to work on a cool retail brand at OFYT out of our Cape Town offices. 
The successful candidate will need to be obsessed with the influencer landscape and social media platforms. They need to also have understanding of the local media landscape and keep up to date with current affairs and news.  
Excellent writing and pitching skills are an absolute must.  
Only highly motivated and solution-orientated people need apply. 

Role overview:  

We seek a highly-motivated and solution orientated person to work on a portfolio that includes one of South Africa’s most loved and iconic retailers. The successful candidate will need to be obsessed with the influencer landscape and social media platforms. They need to also have an understanding of the local media and keep up to date with current affairs and news. Being highly organised, and having excellent administrative and record-keeping skills are an absolute must. 

Responsibilities:  

Assisting with campaign management 

• Support account directors on client accounts. 
• Manage end-to-end development and execution of PR plans and campaigns that meet client objectives and expectations. 
• Work closely with the rest of the PR team to ensure quality, timeous monthly reports are delivered to clients. 
• Monitor and measure the success of campaigns and provide weekly and monthly reports to clients. 

Media relations:  

• Build and update media lists across various beats. 
• Take ownership of daily coverage tracking for reports and timeous client coverage updates. 
• Secure media placements and coverage in top-tier media publications. 
• Writing: Media pitch and release writing skills beyond email communication. 

Influencer management:  

• Influencer research and outreach. 
• Update and manage influencer database. 
• Manage ongoing influencer communications throughout campaigns. 
• A solid support to your team in running multiple influencer campaigns from start to completion. 

Administration:  

• Attend weekly client meetings and provide ongoing communication and updates 
• Demonstrate effective research skills and have a good eye for detail to put together presentations 
• Supplier management: Handle all campaign admin such as influencer vendor loading, contracts, etc. 

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification 
• Minimum of 3-year experience within a PR team in an agency environment 
• Creative thinker with the ability to clearly articulate yourself and actively share ideas with the rest of the PR team 
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, influencers and media contacts 
• Well-presented and articulate 
• Punctual, reliable, and professional
