Job summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Publication Quality Controller (QC) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail and understand copy editing, format editing, and quality control, with a focus on integrated, sustainability, ESG, and annual reporting. The QC will be responsible for ensuring that our  books meets the highest standards of excellence before it is released to the public and that the books are error-free, professional-looking, and engaging. The QC is responsible for accurate, consistent, and correct content.

Key responsibilities:

  • Copy editing/proofreading: Review and refine report content for grammar, punctuation, spelling, style, clarity, and conciseness. Ensure language consistency and adherence to the client's tone and brand guidelines.
  • Format editing: Verify that all reports follow correct formatting, including layout, headings, fonts, tables, figures, and overall design. Collaborate with designers to ensure visual elements enhance the clarity and impact of the content.
  • Quality control: Conduct thorough quality checks to ensure that all content is factually accurate, well-structured, and free of errors. Verify that report content is consistent with the approved copy received from our copywriters or the client.
  • Content alignment: Work closely with project managers and designers, to ensure content aligns with the client's strategic objectives, reporting standards, and sustainability frameworks.
  • Consistency check: Maintain consistency in language, style, and format across multiple documents and versions. Ensure alignment with the client's brand voice and reporting guidelines.
  • Feedback and revision: Provide constructive feedback to project managers to enhance the overall quality of the reports. Make revisions and suggest improvements where necessary.
  • Deadline management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. Coordinate with various teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality content.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in proofreading, within an integrated, sustainability, ESG, or annual reporting context.
  • Strong knowledge of sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks and standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, IFRS S1 & S2).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a keen eye for grammar, punctuation, style, and formatting.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally with project managers and designers.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Perform comprehensive quality assurance checks and reviews on financial and technical report setup of client documentation before publication
  • Verify accuracy, consistency, formatting, grammar, readability, and completeness across financial and technical reports
  • Review documentation against client brand guidelines and organisational requirements to ensure compliance and readiness.
  • Collaborate with technical content specialists to resolve content discrepancies and improve documents for publication.
  • Maintain document controls and registers.

Skills:

  • Experience in data verification and fact-checking for accuracy and reliability.
  • Familiarity with digital reporting formats and tools.
  • Knowledge of current trends in corporate sustainability, ESG practices, and integrated reporting.
  • Experience in managing remote teams and working in a remote environment.
