Rock Engineering Manager

Hire Resolve’s Client is looking for a Rock Engineering Manager to be based at their corporate office in Gauteng!

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic Rock Engineering leadership to ensure safe, responsible, and efficient execution across all operations.
• Develop and implement the Group Rock Engineering Strategy, driving best practices and continuous improvement in geotechnical management.
• Assess and enhance geotechnical designs, ground control systems, and Codes of Practice to mitigate risk and ensure operational stability.
• Offer expert geotechnical input into business planning, feasibility studies, and Competent Person Reports, supporting strategic decision-making.
• Lead governance, compliance, and capability development, including audits, succession planning, and board-level reporting on geotechnical matters.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• Relevant Degree in Geology or Engineering with specialization in Rock Engineering
• Chamber of Mines Strata Control Certificate
• Registered with SANIRE and SAIMM is advantageous
• GDE, M.Sc., M.Eng., MBA, MBL or B. Com qualification will be an advantage
• 10 years’ experience in senior management hard rock experience is required
• Experience in both underground conventional and mechanised mining operations
• Valid Driver’s License Code 08
