Senior Environmental Scientist

Description:
Hire Resolve’s Client is currently looking for an experienced Senior Environmental Scientist to join their mining company based in KwaZulu-Natal. You will be responsible for managing EIAs and WULs, auditing compliance, and overseeing biodiversity, waste, and water management initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Manage environmental permit applications, including EIAs and WULs, ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Audit client operations against environmental authorisations and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct research and prepare reports on biodiversity, waste management, and water management.
• Develop and implement environmental management plans, monitoring programs, and sustainability initiatives.
• Provide expert guidance to clients and junior staff on environmental compliance, best practices, and risk mitigation.

Requirements:

• Grade 12
• BSc Degree in Environmental Management
• Registered with EAPASA and SACNASP (Advantageous)
• 6 years’ experience consulting within the mining industry
• 5 years’ experience in EIA’s, WUL’s, auditing, biodiversity, waste management and water management.
• Valid Driver’s License

Benefits:

• Salary: R420K – R600K
