Hire Resolve’s client who operates out of  Wetton, Cape Town and offers the highest quality construction, project management and specialist subcontracting services, is searching for a Senior Foreman to join their team.

𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:  

  • Site Supervision: Manage and oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and timelines.

  • Team Leadership: Direct and coordinate the work of site teams, including subcontractors, tradespeople, and labourers. Provide guidance, delegate tasks, and ensure optimal productivity.

  • Work Planning: Interpret construction plans and schedules, allocate resources accordingly, and plan ahead to avoid delays and downtime.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all work meets required standards and specifications. Conduct inspections and rectify defects or substandard work.

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Enforce compliance with safety legislation and internal site safety procedures. Conduct toolbox talks and ensure PPE is used correctly.

  • Material Management: Monitor material usage and stock levels. Coordinate deliveries and ensure efficient use of resources to minimize waste.

  • Progress Reporting: Maintain accurate records of site activities and provide regular updates on progress, delays, or issues to site management.

  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve site issues quickly and effectively to avoid project delays.

  • Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with engineers, inspectors, and other professionals during site inspections or project meetings.

  • Mentorship & Training: Support the development of junior staff and ensure knowledge transfer of best practices and construction methods.

𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:

  • Education & Qualifications:

    • Matric (Grade 12) certificate (essential)

    • Trade Certificate (e.g., Carpentry, Bricklaying, Electrical, Plumbing) or NQF Level 4–5 in Construction Management or Civil Engineering (advantageous)

    • Valid driver’s license (Code 08 or higher)

    • Health and Safety training (e.g., First Aid, SHE Rep, or OHS Certificate)

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in a foreman or supervisory role on construction or infrastructure projects

    • Proven track record managing teams, subcontractors, and project schedules

    • Experience working on large-scale or multidisciplinary sites (civil, structural, building, or MEP)

  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and team coordination skills

    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and site plans

    • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations

    • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

    • Competence in site reporting and record-keeping

    • Basic computer literacy (e.g., MS Excel, Word, or project management apps)

  • Personal Attributes:

    • High attention to detail and quality control

    • Resilient under pressure and adaptable to changing site conditions

    • Strong communicator with a hands-on, proactive approach

    • Committed to safety, productivity, and deadlines
