Key Responsibilities

Successful learners will assist with:

• Responding to firefighting emergencies.
• Rescue operations.
• Rendering basic medical care.

• Supporting Fire & Rescue Services under supervision.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Proof of completion of an FF1 Course.
• Be medically, physically and mentally fit.
• No criminal record (verification required).
• Reside within the Stellenbosch Municipal Area and remain a resident for the duration of employment.
• Good communication skills in at least two of the three official Western Cape languages (English, Afrikaans or isiXhosa).
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Added Advantage

• Valid Code B driver's licence.

Special Conditions

Applicants must:

• Be physically fit and able-bodied.
• Successfully complete physical fitness assessments.
• Have no cardiac or respiratory abnormalities.
• Be free from phobias that may affect firefighting duties, including fear of heights, confined spaces, deep water and similar operational environments.
