Stores Team Leader

Are you a highly organized and motivated individual with a passion for inventory and logistics? A leading player in the manufacturing industry is looking for a Stores Team Leader to take charge of their stores operations and ensure the efficient management of stock, staff, and systems.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the stores department, including receiving, storage, and dispatch of materials.

• Ensure accurate stock control, regular cycle counts, and full stock takes.

• Implement and maintain inventory management systems and ensure proper documentation of all stock movements.

• Lead and manage the stores team, ensuring optimal performance, training, and compliance with safety procedures.

• Liaise with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure smooth workflow and availability of materials.

• Monitor and maintain housekeeping standards, ensuring that the store is clean, safe, and well-organized.

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.

Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12) is essential; a tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, or Warehousing is advantageous.

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Proven team leadership experience and ability to manage people effectively.

• Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office, ERP systems).

• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• A hands-on approach with a strong commitment to health and safety.

NB: Applicants must have experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment. Familiarity with FIFO stock systems and material traceability is highly advantageous.
