Breede Valley Municipality: Traffic Wardens Learnership Programme 2026

This initiative is presented by the Breede Valley Municipality, Law Enforcement division, in collaboration with the Department of Police Oversight and Community Safety in offering an opportunity to unemployed youth to be trained as Peace Officers/Traffic Wardens to enhance the Law Enforcement capacity within the Local Municipality.  The Department will cover the cost of the training for qualifying participants for the duration of the program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Certified copies of the following documentation must be attached:

  • Grade 12 Matric Certificate (No statement of results)
  • South African Identity Document
  • At least a valid B driving license.
  • Clear criminal record (SAPS) or Proof of application (A Criminal record will result in disqualification)
  • A comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (not certified)

OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be physically fit and healthy
  • Must be a South African citizen between the ages of 20-35
  • Must reside within the Breede Valley Municipal Area. (Submit an Affidavit as proof)
  • Ability to communicate in at least two of the three (3) official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Candidates must pass the following throughout the recruitment and course period:
  • Diagnostic written test
  • Physical test
  • Random drug test
  • Driving test
  • Must have own transport to and from the training facility

SPECIAL INSTRUCTION TO APPLICANTS (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

Applicants are required to submit the following:

  1. A completed BVM EPWP Database Registration Form (only if you are not already registered on the EPWP database).
  2. A Curriculum Vitae (CV),
  3. Certified copies (not older than 6 months) of:
    1. qualifications,
    2. Identity document,
    3. driver’s license, and
    4. any other relevant documentation as specified under the minimum requirements for the position.
  4. If you are already registered on the BVM EPWP Database, you need to submit a cover letter and the required supporting documents.

Applicants must clearly state the position they are applying for on the EPWP Database Registration Form or in the cover letter.

Disqualification:

Please note that the following will lead to disqualification:

  • Non-submission of required documents or submission of fraudulent documents.
  • Canvassing of Councillors and/or officials.
  • Non-adherence to the instructions on the advertisement.
