Key Responsibilities
? Deliver meals to patients in a timely and courteous manner.
? Assist patients in making menu selections based on dietary requirements and preferences.
? Ensure that meal trays are set up attractively and correctly.
? Act as a liaison between patients and the catering department to relay special requests or concerns.
? Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient dietary needs and restrictions.
? Check meal trays for accuracy and presentation before delivery.
? Ensure that all meals comply with dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines.
? Address and resolve any issues or complaints from patients regarding meal service.
? Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the meal service area.
? Follow all hospital policies and procedures related to food safety and infection control.
? Ensure that all food handling and storage practices comply with health and safety regulations.
? Record meal orders and any special dietary requirements accurately.
? Keep accurate records of patient meal deliveries and any feedback received.
? Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed.
Requirements
?Matric or equivalent.
? Certificate in hospitality, food service, or a related field is a plus.
? Previous experience in a food service or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
? Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is advantageous.
? Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
? Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
? Strong organizational and time-management skills.
? Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
? Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
? Physical ability to stand for long periods and carry meal trays.
