About ZenPod

ZenPod is a technology-driven wellness vending business operating premium massage chair activations across high-traffic consumer environments in South Africa. We deploy automated massage chairs in shopping centres, airports, and other premium locations, providing on-demand wellness experiences to the public. We're a fast-moving, entrepreneurial business and this role sits at the heart of our operations.

The role

The Activations and Operations Manager owns everything that happens in the field — from the moment equipment leaves our storage facility through to ongoing site performance. This role is responsible for execution, quality, and growth. This is a hands-on, field-based position. The right person is highly organised, commercially minded, and thrives on ownership and accountability.

Key responsibilities

Logistics and installation

• Coordinate shop fitters, electricians, and site contractors for new activations
• Manage transportation, delivery, placement, and installation of chairs and equipment
• Oversee branding, signage, and promotional material setup at each location
• Maintain the storage facility and manage all inventory movements
• Execute equipment swap-outs and minimise downtime

Operations and maintenance

• Facilitate repairs through managed service provider relationships
• Conduct regular site visits and quality checks across all active locations
• Manage branded clothing and promotional assets for all activations

Staffing

• Source, screen, and present promotional staff candidates for approval
• Train new staff using established scripts and onboarding protocols
• Manage staff schedules to ensure full coverage across all activations

Performance monitoring and reporting

• Monitor and analyse performance data via the Nayax application across all centres
• Report regularly on revenue targets versus actuals per site
• Identify underperforming and high-performing locations and recommend strategic responses
• Flag operational issues and escalate with recommended actions

Business development

• Identify and evaluate new activation opportunities — shopping centres, airports, and premium venues
• Conduct site visits alongside management to assess new spaces and obtain rental rates
• Initiate outreach and schedule viewings with prospective venue partners

Package

• Salary: 30,000 – R45,000 gross per month (negotiable based on experience)
• Contract: Fixed-term (1 September – 31 December 2026), with potential for permanent appointment

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years' experience in activations, field operations, or project management
• Strong logistics and stakeholder coordination background
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a fast-paced, field-based environment
• Tech-savvy — able to work with performance dashboards and reporting tools
• Valid South African driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Commercial mindset — understands the link between operational performance and revenue

Advantageous

• Experience in retail activations, vending, or consumer tech environments
• Prior experience managing promotional staff or field teams
• Existing relationships with shopping centre management or landlords

Package

• Salary: R30,000 – R45,000 gross per month (negotiable based on experience)
• Contract: Fixed-term (1 September – 31 December 2026), with potential for permanent appointment
