An established and reputable FMCG company is seeking an Exports Logistics Coordinator to join their team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and proactive professional with solid experience in export logistics, particularly in managing cross-border road exports within the SADC region.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate end-to-end export logistics, including shipment scheduling, transport arrangements, and customs compliance.
  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams to forecast demand and develop efficient shipping plans.
  • Negotiate freight contracts and rates with carriers and logistics providers.
  • Prepare and review accurate export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading.
  • Liaise with customs brokers and regulatory authorities to expedite shipment clearance and resolve issues.
  • Monitor shipments, proactively managing delays and disruptions to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of export activities and costs.
  • Communicate shipment status and logistics updates to internal teams and customers.
  • Stay current with export regulations, trade agreements, and logistics industry trends.
  • Analyze export KPIs to identify and implement process improvements and cost savings.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of logistics service providers and recommend enhancements.
  • Support procurement activities related to logistics services contracts.
  • Train and mentor junior logistics staff on export compliance and procedures.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or related discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in export logistics, especially cross-border road exports.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws, local regulations, and non-tariff barriers.
  • Understanding of Incoterms® (2000, 2010, or 2020).
  • Experience with customs procedures and logistics management software.
  • Familiarity with direct and indirect export compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
  • Certifications in export compliance or supply chain management are advantageous.
