Flagpersons (Centurion)

Reports to: Traffic Safety Officer
Position type: Entry level

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: 

• Grade 12
• At least 2 years’ experience in similar position
• Driver’s license would be an added advantage
• Communicates effectively on all levels
• Accuracy
• Physically fit (to move heavy objects
• Organising and planning skills
• Customer focus
• Team work and collaboration
• Ability to work under pressure
• Trustworthiness

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Assist the TSO with traffic – accommodation set-up and scene safety
• Hold responsibility for the removal of vehicle parts and debris from affected roadways
• Provide general assistance to the TSO on scene
• Hold responsibility for traffic-flow regulation
• Maintain a visible presence and alertness to surrounding traffic
• Ensure that all flagman tasks are completed according to standard operating procedures
• Provide support on incident /accidents on the route
• Perform any related tasks and when required by management
