Job description
The Group Account Director (GAD) at 99c is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing multiple accounts and leading account management teams.
This role combines strategic planning, client relationship management, and team leadership to ensure the successful execution of advertising campaigns and the overall satisfaction of clients.
The GAD plays a pivotal role in driving the success of our agency by managing key client relationships, leading internal teams, and ensuring that campaigns meet or exceed both client expectations and agency goals.
By focusing on strategic leadership, financial oversight, and performance analysis while tracking relevant KPIs, the GAD contributes significantly to the agency's growth, sustainability and reputation in the industry.
Responsibilities
Strategic leadership
- Develop and implement strategic plans for client accounts to achieve business objectives and drive growth
- Collaborate with senior management to align account strategies with the agency's overall vision and goas
Client relationship management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to discuss campaign performance, gather feedback, and identify new opportunities for collaboration
Team management, mentorship and leadership
- Lead and mentor account management teams, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of account managers and other team members
Financial oversight
- Manage budgets for multiple accounts, ensuring profitability while delivering quality services
- Analyse financial performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed
Campaign development and execution
- Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to develop innovative advertising campaigns that meet client objectives
- Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
Performance analysis
- Monitor campaign performance metrics and analyse results to inform future strategies
- Prepare reports for clients and internal stakeholders that detail campaign effectiveness and ROI
Development
- Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling services to existing clients
- Identify challenges within existing workscope, providing solutions to mitigate risk and cement the agency’s position with clients
- Participate in pitches for new business, where necessary, utilizing your knowledge and experience to present the agency's capabilities and strategies to potential client
Trends monitoring
- Remain informed about local and global industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging technologies that could impact client accounts or agency strategies
- Share insights with the team to drive innovation in service offering
KPIs
Client satisfaction scores
- Measure client satisfaction through surveys or feedback forms
Revenue growth
- Track revenue growth across managed accounts, aiming for above-inflationary GEB
Client retention rate
- Monitor the percentage of clients retained over the period
Campaign performance metrics
- Analyse key metrics including engagement rates, conversion rates, and ROI for campaigns managed, aiming for continuous improvement in these areas
Team performance metrics
- Assess the performance of account management teams based on project delivery timelines, quality of work, individual team member performance and growth, as well as client feedback
Budget adherence
- Monitor adherence to budget constraints across accounts, aim to maintain profitability while delivering high-quality services
New business acquisition and client retention
- Track the number of new clients acquired or contracts renewed resulting from proactive business development efforts and ongoing existing client relationship enhancements
Employee satisfaction
- Measure team morale through employee satisfaction surveys, aim to foster a positive work environment that encourages retention and productivity
Qualifications and attributes
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as marketing, advertising, or business. An MBA or advanced degree is also advantageous
- 7 Years experience in account management, client services, or a related role
- Strong time-management and organization skills
- Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to develop marketing strategies that align with client objectives
