Job description
The Infrastructure and Facilities Lead serves as a partner to the Chief Operating Officer, providing the high-level support and operational leadership necessary to achieve an environment where students and staff thrive. The role ensures the seamless maintenance and development of the physical campus while safeguarding a robust digital ecosystem, encompassing Last Mile connectivity and the reliable availability of core platforms such as Google Workspace, Moodle, Zoom, LMS, and the SIS. By managing IT support and facilities teams and maintaining a meticulous asset register, this position integrates stable technical infrastructure with high-quality physical spaces to deliver a superior institutional experience.
Physical Infrastructure and Campus Excellence (Weighting: 30%)
● Ensure the seamless operation, maintenance, and strategic development of the physical campus to support student success. ● Direct the facilities and cleaning teams to maintain institutional excellence in hygiene, safety, and campus aesthetics.
● Manage all campus utilities and preventative maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime.
● Act as the primary liaison for external facilities vendors to ensure compliance and service quality.
Digital Ecosystem and Software Availability (Weighting: 30%)
● Safeguard a robust digital environment by managing Last Mile connectivity and on-site network stability (cabling, LAN, and hardware).
● Ensure the reliable availability and optimal performance of core software platforms.
● Lead the IT Support team to provide proactive, user-centric technical assistance for students and staff.
● Serve as the operational lead for IT project implementation and infrastructure upgrades.
● Finalise, implement, and maintain the Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure system stability, data integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective support for institutional governance, the Registrar’s Office, academic administration, student records management, reporting, and operational efficiency. Ensure alignment with higher education governance frameworks, audit requirements, and relevant regulatory standards.
Asset Management and Financial Oversight (Weighting: 20%)
● Maintain a meticulous and unified Asset Register for all physical and IT assets, ensuring 100% accuracy.
● Conduct lifecycle planning and audits to inform the annual budgeting and replacement cycles for technical hardware and furniture.
● Manage procurement and vendor SLAs within the Support Services budget to ensure financial sustainability.
Leadership and Governance (Weighting: 20%)
● Serve as a strategic partner to the COO in translating institutional goals 2 of 3 into operational reality.
●Ensure full compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) statutory requirements across all infrastructure.
● Lead team rituals and performance management for the facilities and IT support staff to ensure an effective organisational structure.
● Uphold TSIBA's RISE values in all interactions.
Requirements
Degree in Facilities Management, IT, or Operations
⬣ Project Management certification
⬣ Understanding of Last Mile infrastructure and educational software ecosystems
⬣ 2–3 years’ experience in a leadership position or team lead capacity
