Job description

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Executive Assistant Intern to support the Chief Content Officer (CCO). This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in executive administration, calendar and meeting coordination, stakeholder communication, and project support within a fast-paced media environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organised, and looking to build a career in administration, office management, or executive support while working alongside a senior leader and a dynamic team.

Key duties and responsibilities

Executive support

  • Assist in managing the CCO’s daily schedule and calendar.
  • Help coordinate meetings, workshops, and briefing sessions.
  • Draft and prepare emails, memos, and meeting notes.
  • Ensure timely follow-ups and completion of action items.

Content coordination support

  • Assist in tracking the progress of content acquisition, commissioning, and production timelines.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and executive summaries for internal use.
  • Support coordination of strategic content meetings, including agenda preparation, minutes, and progress tracking.
  • Maintain organised records and folders for ongoing content projects.

Document and workflow management 

  • Assist in drafting and editing professional communications, reports, and executive summaries for board presentations, industry forums, and internal use.
  • Track key deliverables and content commissioning deadlines in collaboration with the Toxmedia subsidiaries and TRN’s scheduling teams.
  • Maintain an organised and confidential digital filing system.

 Event and travel logistics 

  • Coordinate the CCO’s travel arrangements for industry events, international content negotiations, and investor meetings.
  • Prepare comprehensive travel briefs and ensure logistical readiness.
  • Support planning of internal offsites, content summits, and other strategic sessions.

Minimum qualifications, experience and skills required: 

  • Certificate or diploma in office administration, business administration, management assistant or related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Written and verbal communication skills (English essential, other SA languages beneficial).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and contribute to a high-energy team.
  • Professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Passion for content, storytelling, and the entertainment industry.
