Job description
Summary of the position:
The Marketing and Content Coordinator is responsible for implementing Spier Arts Trust’s marketing and public relations strategies. It is a hands-on production role for an energetic, digital savvy, collaborative and creative marketing and content co-ordinator.
This role supports the organisation in building brand equity, by managing Spier Arts Trust’s marketing calendar and social media presence while also contributing to broader marketing and sales objectives. The focus is on creating authentic, consistent content across photography, film and digital platforms that tell the stories of our patrons and artists in our ecosystem, to drive attendance, sales and public awareness.
Areas of delivery:
Social media management
- Develop, guide and report on a comprehensive social media strategy for Spier Arts trust, to ensure consistent and effective brand messaging and a cohesive brand experience.
- Develop and manage Spier Arts Trust social media and digital content calendar and posting, to ensure a cohesive brand message across all channels (Instagram, Facebook and YouTube).
- Drive storytelling content creation by attending and recording Spier Arts Trust events, ensuring all digital assets are produced and delivered in the correct formats for each platform.
- When required, manages supplier relationships with designers, copywriters, photographers and videographers including the development of film briefs and scripts, providing music direction.
- Generate, write, edit, publish and share engaging content on social media channels, blogs and mailers.
- Ensure digital assets - including films, reels, graphics and photographs are stored and can be accessed and used effectively by the right people in the organisation.
- Manage the social media online community, by responding to comments, tagged stories and key influencer relationships. Reply to tagged social media DM’s and emails to maintain a positive brand presence.
- Maintain and update all social and digital platforms with current information, including bios, links, cover photos and imagery.
- Ensure updated video and photography are uploaded to the website where relevant
- Develop and oversee a digital advertising strategy for top-of-funnel brand awareness, including the creation of ad content and management of boosted posts, in collaboration with the digital media agency.
- Drive traffic from social channels to the website and e-commerce shop.
- Manage the social media budget, including processing invoices and ensuring adherence to budget guidelines.
- Stay informed on industry trends, digital innovations, and emerging social media technologies - including exploring how AI can enhance content creation and digital storytelling.
- Leverage social media trends to increase visibility; monitor analytics (reach, engagement, growth) and provide monthly reports with actionable insights.
PR and media relations
- Liaise with PR agencies to draft and distribute press releases and prepare digital media packs for exhibitions and art events.
- Manage media requests and coordination: cultivate relationships with preferred PR agencies to secure coverage and manage media requests and coordinate interviews.
- Build partnerships with other local organisations, businesses, and influencers to amplify outreach.
General website marketing and communications
- Strategy development: Develop an annual marketing plan and budget for each exhibition and event that is marketed on our website.
- Email marketing: Oversee and design frequent newsletters and blogs using preferred platforms.
- Website and digital: Maintain and maximise the website (WordPress/Squarespace), ensuring all exhibition information, artist profiles, and event calendars are accurate and SEO-optimised.
- Graphic design: Create visually appealing marketing materials (product and service proposals, flyers, digital signage, social assets), preferably through Canva or Adobe creative suite.
Requirements
- Degree/diploma in PR, marketing, digital storytelling or equivalent
- Two to five years of experience in marketing, communication and or public relations, in the arts, cultural or creative sector
- Digital Savvy – proven track record of managing social media accounts and running paid social media ads (Meta), and using email marketing tools
- Excellent copywriting, editing and storytelling skills to capture the essence of the artists and collaborators stories
- Proficient in In-design, Keynote, Canva/Adobe creative suite, social media scheduling tools (Hootsuite/Buffer), and website backend – admin shopify (WordPress)
- Ability to work independently
