Job description
We're hiring a hands-on Marketing Executive to deliver against four ready-to-go marketing plans for Leonardslee Wine Estate in West Sussex, England a 200-acre property home to Mannings heath golf club, the Vineyard hotel, the Vineyard restaurant, and Leonardslee Family Vineyards (a top 100 world's best Vineyards English sparkling wine brand). The Drawing Room at Leonardslee House — our premium new tasting venue — launches in July 2026.
The role
The strategy is set. We need you to deliver it. You'll run paid Google and Meta campaigns yourself, write newsletters, brief our in-house web developer, social media resource and design team, manage Hitched and advertising for our wedding venue, write editorial pitches, and track every booking back to source.
You'll work with
Our management team and you will have a full in-house support team behind you - no external agencies.
You are
A doer with three to six years of hands-on marketing experience. You build campaigns in Google Ads and Meta Ads Manager yourself - you don't brief agencies to do it. You write well in English. You're organised, self-starting, and curious. Hospitality, wine or weddings experience is a plus but not essential.
This is not for you if
You want to manage a team, sit in strategy meetings, or use external agencies to do the work. This is a doer's role.
Apply with your CV and a one-paragraph note telling us which of the following you've personally built and run in the last twelve months: paid Google search campaigns, paid Meta campaigns, email campaigns in Klaviyo or equivalent, or wedding directory listings on Hitched or equivalent platforms.
Hands-on paid media execution
- Building and managing Google Ads campaigns directly in Google Ads Manager — search, display and performance max
- Building and managing Meta paid campaigns directly in Meta Ads Manager — Facebook and Instagram, including audience targeting, creative testing and budget optimisation
- Reading campaign performance data and acting on it — bid adjustments, creative swaps, budget reallocation, A/B testing
Email marketing platform proficiency
- Building, scheduling and sending email campaigns in Klaviyo, Mailchimp or equivalent
- List management, segmentation, automation flows
- Reading open rates, click-through rates, conversion data and adjusting accordingly
Strong written English
- Newsletter copywriting in a luxury hospitality tone
- Editorial pitch writing — emails to journalists that get a response
- Brief writing — clear, structured briefs that developers, designers and social media resources can act on without back-and-forth
Analytics and reporting
- Google Analytics or GA4 — reading traffic, conversion, fall-off points
- Building a weekly performance summary from raw campaign data
- Calculating cost-per-acquisition and tracking bookings back to source
CMS and website confidence
- Comfortable making text and image updates in Shopify, WordPress or similar without needing a developer
- Comfortable briefing a developer on what needs building, reviewing the work and signing it off
Social media direction
- Building monthly content calendars across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok
- Briefing a social media resource clearly enough that they can publish without daily clarification
- Reading social analytics and adjusting the content mix accordingly
Organisational and self-management
- Running four marketing plans in parallel without losing track of any of them
- Managing remote relationships with a UK-based team in a different time zone
- Self-direction — setting priorities and meeting deadlines without daily supervision
Strongly preferred
- Wedding directory experience
- Hotel booking system familiarity — Booking.com, Expedia, Mr and Mrs Smith,
- Working knowledge of OTAs and how to balance OTA channels against direct booking
- Experience with channel managers (Alacer, SiteMinder, RoomRaccoon or similar)
- Hospitality, wine, weddings or tourism marketing background
- Google Business Profile optimisation and local SEO basics
- Schema markup and on-page SEO understanding sufficient to brief a developer
Bonus — desirable but trainable
- WSET Level 2 or above, or genuine personal interest in wine
- Editorial or PR experience — building press lists, writing pitches, working with journalists
- TikTok content strategy for hospitality or lifestyle brands
- Photography and video brief writing for content production
- Basic Canva or Figma skills for quick visual mock-ups when briefing the design team
- HubSpot, Apollo or similar CRM and outbound platform experience
- Familiarity with the UK hospitality market — consumer behaviour, press, booking platforms
Personal qualities — equally important
- Doer mindset — happy to write the campaign brief, build the Google Ad, draft the newsletter copy themselves
- Curious — willing to learn wine, golf, weddings, food, hotel marketing all in parallel
- Self-starting — there's no one else in the South African office working on Leonardslee Wine Estate. They set the pace.
- High personal standard — what they produce represents the brand in market. It has to be excellent.
- Comfortable with direct feedback — the working relationship with seniors is fast and direct, not committee-driven.
- Organised under pressure — four plans running simultaneously, weekly reporting cadence, no slack in the system.
