A leading mining services company is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join its team. The successful candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll and bonus administration for all employees and service providers, supporting the company’s commitment to operational excellence and compliance in the mining sector.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate calculations to determine bonus payouts based on established formulae, criteria, and company policies

  • Ensure all bonus payments are processed accurately and within set timelines

  • Maintain, update, and safeguard accurate records of bonus-related data

  • Compile periodic and ad-hoc reports to provide insights for management decision-making

  • Analyze large datasets using advanced Excel functions (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)

  • Conduct regular validation of payroll data for accuracy and consistency

  • Prepare documentation and reports for internal and external audits and compliance inspections

  • Resolve discrepancies promptly to maintain data integrity

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders for bonus administration inputs

  • Respond to and resolve employee payroll and bonus queries professionally

  • Accurately import information into the payroll system

  • Issue weekly and monthly payslips on schedule

  • Submit and track third-party claims according to relevant policies

  • Reconcile payments to external service providers and resolve variances between payroll and financial systems

  • Maintain court orders (garnishees) and ensure accurate deductions

  • Maintain and archive employee records

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly payroll checks

  • Assist during financial year-end and audit processes

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Certificate / Equivalent NQF Level 4

  • Certificate in Payroll or Finance-related field

  • SAGE VIP Certificate

  • Advanced Microsoft Word & Excel skills

  • Strong interpretation and communication skills

  • In-depth knowledge of payroll systems

  • Self-management, planning, numerical, and analytical skills

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • 2–3 years’ payroll experience, including bonus administration

  • Knowledge and experience in SAGE 300 People

  • Medically fit

  • No criminal record

  • Valid driver’s license
