We’re looking for a talented Senior Cloud Software Engineer to design, build and operate scalable, cloud-native systems on AWS. You’ll play a key role in shaping modern digital connectivity products used by millions of customers, including airtime, data, rewards and smartphone journeys.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact platforms while influencing architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving innovation.

What we’re looking for

Strong experience in backend software development (Java, Node.js, Python, etc.)
Proven experience working with AWS cloud services
Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems
Experience building event-driven architectures
Strong API design and database optimisation skills (SQL/NoSQL)
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and cloud infrastructure
Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills
Passion for mentoring and growing other engineers

What you’ll be doing

Design, build, test, and operate scalable cloud-native systems on AWS
Architect modern, reusable services aligned to AWS well-architected principles
Develop and maintain event-driven, microservices-based architectures
Deliver simple, elegant solutions powering digital connectivity products
Optimise databases and APIs for performance, reliability, and scalability
Collaborate with product, QA, and platform teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
Contribute to the design and delivery of new products used by millions of clients

Nice to have

Experience in telecommunications, fintech, or high-scale platforms
Exposure to containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
Knowledge of security and compliance in cloud environments
