Qualifications and skills:
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:
- Grade 12.
- Qualified electrician red seal/trade test and wireman’s license
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Deadline driven.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Detail oriented.
- Highly motivated individual with strong self-management skills.
- High level of trustworthiness and ethical conduct.
- The daily physical demands are those required of an electrical assistant.
- The candidate must be physically fit.
- The person will be required to travel to sites.
- The work environment characteristics are those encountered in a typical environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain complex electrical systems, including high-voltage equipment.
- Pulling in of large cables and termination of cables
- Oversee installation of electrical infrastructure for new builds, upgrades, and expansions.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and certification of electrical systems
- Ensure compliance with national electrical codes, occupational health and safety standards, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and certifications.
- Lead risk assessments and implement corrective actions.
- Advise management on electrical infrastructure planning and upgrades.
- Support energy efficiency initiatives and sustainability projects.
- Provide input into budgets, procurement, and resource allocation for electrical works.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols
