The Investment Associate will play a key role in sourcing, evaluating, executing, and monitoring investment opportunities. The role requires strong analytical skills, financial modelling expertise, and proven transaction execution experience in Private Capital, Leveraged Finance, or Transaction Services. The successful candidate will support senior team members throughout the deal cycle and contribute to portfolio management and value creation initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct financial and commercial due diligence on potential investment opportunities.

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to support valuation and transaction structuring.

  • Perform market and industry research to identify attractive sectors and investment opportunities.

  • Prepare investment memoranda, presentations, and reports for internal committees and stakeholders.

  • Assist in structuring, negotiating, and executing transactions.

  • Monitor portfolio company performance and support value creation initiatives post-investment.

  • Maintain relationships with management teams, advisors, financiers, and other stakeholders.

  • Provide strategic and analytical support to senior investment professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field (Honours or postgraduate preferred).

  • Professional qualifications (CA(SA), CFA, or equivalent) advantageous.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in:

    • Private Capital / Private Equity

    • Leveraged Finance / Debt Advisory

    • Transaction Services / Corporate Finance / M&A

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, valuation techniques, and capital structures.

  • Proven deal execution experience with exposure to due diligence, structuring, and negotiations.
